After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brookville, Bradford was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed by the Moniteau Warriors on the road to the tune of 54-8. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Owls also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
Leading Bradford to victory were Tommy Langdon and Talan Reese. Langdon rushed for 71 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while Reese threw for 190 yards and three touchdowns. Lucas Wallace was another key passer, picking up five receiving yards and a touchdown.
Bradford wouldn't let Moniteau keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Bradford can thank Jordan Thompson and Carter Colley for forcing both of them. Thompson's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making nine total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bradford was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 477 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Moniteau only gained 225.
Moniteau lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaiah Thompson, who picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown. Thompson got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of80 yards. Moniteau also got help from Trent Beachem, who showed off his sure hands for 100 receiving yards.
The win got Bradford back to even at 1-1. As for Moniteau, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bradford will venture away from home to challenge DuBois at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran up and down the field in their prior games. As for Moniteau, they will head out to square off against Punxsutawney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Moniteau focused on turnovers this week as team gave up six on Friday.
