The Greene County Rams pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 72-64 to Perry. Greene County has not had much luck with Perry recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Perry's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Geren Kenney, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 20 rebounds. Kenney hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for five straight games. Owen Myers was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with two steals.
Greene County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season. As for Perry, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greene County and Northwest Webster will face off on February 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northwest Webster will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Greene County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Perry, they will head out on the road to challenge South Tama County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Perry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
