The Millikan Rams will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Gahr Gladiators at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Millikan comes in on four and Gahr on three.
While Millikan's win against Huntington Beach wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams skirted past the Oilers 2-1.
Jade Torres spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Lexy Everrett was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
Meanwhile, Gahr posted their closest victory since April 3, 2025 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Valley Christian 5-4.
Gahr also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Bella Gonzalez gave up only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hazel Anglo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Megan Wong, who got on base in two of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Gahr always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Christian only posted an OBP of .258.
Millikan's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Gahr, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Millikan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Gahr struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Millikan couldn't quite finish off Gahr in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 and fell 4-2. Will the Rams have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
