The New Castle Trojans can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Centerville by a score of 43-33. The win was just what New Castle needed coming off of a 58-20 defeat in their prior match.
Morley Blessinger was the offensive standout of the match as she scored eight points along with 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mallory Owens, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
New Castle's victory ended a 15-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10. As for Centerville, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Castle will take on Jay County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jay County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games. As for Centerville, they will head out on the road to face off against Hagerstown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Hagerstown is ranked 400th, while Centerville is ranked 389th).
