The Holy Cross Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the Florence Township Memorial Flashes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
After only 12 points in their last match, Holy Cross made sure to put some points up on the board against Gloucester Catholic on Friday. Holy Cross secured a 32-27 W over Gloucester Catholic.
Holy Cross' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from William Updike, who threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes. Christopher Scott was in the mix as well, providing Holy Cross with three touchdowns.
Holy Cross' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Cornelius Pearce jr. and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Florence Township Memorial put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They didn't even let Bishop Eustace Prep onto the board and left with a 2-0 win.
Holy Cross' victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Florence Township Memorial, their win was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 6-0.
Holy Cross was taken down by Florence Township Memorial 48-8 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Holy Cross avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
