Gabriel Rangel and Aiden Urdiales stepped up to the plate in a big way. Rangel got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Urdiales went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. Urdiales has become a key player for Jefferson: the team is 6-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Seguin got themselves on the board against Lanier on Tuesday, but Lanier never followed suit. They blew past the Voks 15-0. Considering the Matadors have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Dylan Eisen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Josh Medina, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Seguin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Seguin's win bumped their record up to 17-8-1. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jefferson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Seguin struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jefferson suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Seguin when the teams last played on April 1st. Will the Mustangs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
