Santa Teresa recap Nov. 7, 2012
Lincoln extended the longest winning streak in Santa Teresa this week by beating Gunderson, 39-20. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Lions.
Silver Creek moved up to 774 from 803 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders were able to make move up by beating Leigh 20-14.
Westmont's dynamic duo of Trevor Flint and Keanu Phillips proved tough for Mt. Pleasant to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Flint threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns and Phillips had 103 yards receiving. Cj Rodriguez helped Westmont's passing attack out by catching three balls for 83 yards.
Trevor Bearden was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 435 yards on 36 carries as Live Oak topped the Cardinals. Teammate Mark Butterworth added to the ground attack by rushing for 66 yards.
Branham's Mitchell King and Delbertson Daniel have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Santa Teresa in both passing and receiving yards. King has thrown for 1552 yards this season, while Daniel has 34 catches for 466 yards. The Acorns' Bearden leads the league in rushing yards with 1892.
Lavon Donald of the the Longhorns is only 86 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Donald has rushed for 914 yards on 119 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Grizzlies take on Silver Creek. At the moment, Gunderson is in second, while Chris Bolding's team is in fifth.
Westmont took down Mt. Pleasant 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Flint in the win.
