The Kickapoo Nation Warriors couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Veritas Christian on Thursday, falling 59-15. Kickapoo Nation was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.
Veritas Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Abel Ney out in front who scored ten points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Justice Alvarez, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Kickapoo Nation's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Veritas Christian, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.
Kickapoo Nation does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Veritas Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bishop Seabury Academy at 8:30 p.m. on January 5th. Bishop Seabury Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Veritas Christian likes a good challenge.
