Lakeside and Magnolia are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Lakeside Rams will be playing at home against the Magnolia Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeside is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Last Wednesday, Lakeside ended up a good deal behind Bryant and lost 53-39. While losing is never fun, Lakeside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Bryant is ranked 33rd).
The losing side was boosted by Amelia Rogers, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. She scored a full 41% of Lakeside's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Reeves, who scored 8 points.
Even though Magnolia has not done well against Hot Springs recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Magnolia took down Hot Springs 54-38.
Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Magnolia, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
Lakeside strolled past Magnolia in their previous meeting back in February of 2018 by a score of 48-33. Will Lakeside repeat their success, or does Magnolia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
