Largo (Fla.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 6 in Florida, but was stunned by
Armwood (Seffner, Fla.), 10-6. Armwood was ranked at No. 63 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Florida coming into the week.
After taking the lead on a field goal by
Nick Feely in the first quarter, the Hawks led 10-0 at the half.
Armwood was ahead by as much as 10 before the Packers pulled closer.
Jordan Griffin stood out for AHS in the win. The sophomore ran for one touchdown.
Largo's lone touchdown came on an 87-yard punt return by
Reggie Moore in the fourth quarter.
The Seffner school had given up an average of 12.2 points prior to the contest. The six points that LHS ended with were well below its average of 35.6 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Largo, which notched a 37-14 victory over Gibbs in its previous outing.
