Leading Douglass to victory were Joshua Thompson and Taquez Butler. Thompson scored 20 points, while Butler scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thompson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Makel Boyd, who scored 11 points.
Douglass pushed their record up to 20-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.1 points per game. As for Lakeland Preparatory, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglass won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Memphis Business Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Memphis Business Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on KIPP Collegiate at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (KIPP Collegiate is ranked 309th, while Lakeland Preparatory is ranked 312th).
