The Rosamond Roadrunners will face off against the Immanuel Christian Crusaders at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Rosamond knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Immanuel Christian likes a good challenge.
Rosamond came out on top against Desert last Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Roadrunners took their game against the Scorpions 14-9.
Rosamond got a massive performance out of Alexis Rico, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alysia Rico, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Immanuel Christian entered their tilt with Trona on Tuesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Tornadoes.
Abigail Barham made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Holly Cosner was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Rosamond is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Immanuel Christian, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rosamond has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Immanuel Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rosamond took their victory against Immanuel Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 14-4 score. Do the Roadrunners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
