La Crosse Logan is on a four-game streak of home losses, Sparta a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The La Crosse Logan Rangers will take on the Sparta Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. La Crosse Logan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Even though Reedsburg scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, La Crosse Logan still came out on top. La Crosse Logan took their match against Reedsburg 66-56. That ten points margin sets a new team best for La Crosse Logan this season.
Meanwhile, Sparta pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Holmen at home by a decisive 82-63 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Monday (62), Sparta still had to take the loss.
Despite the defeat, Sparta got a solid performance out of Gavin Rhead, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Owen Berendes was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
La Crosse Logan's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Sparta, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
La Crosse Logan was able to grind out a solid victory over Sparta when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 84-77. Does La Crosse Logan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sparta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
