Coalfield has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Harriman Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coalfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Harriman is ranked 75th).
Last Friday, Coalfield ended up a good deal behind Oliver Springs and lost 53-39. Coalfield has struggled against Oliver Springs recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Harriman came tearing into last Monday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 71-32 victory over Oliver Springs. Harriman has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Coalfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Harriman, they pushed their record up to 15-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Coalfield strolled past Harriman in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 69-54. Will Coalfield repeat their success, or does Harriman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
