The Alhambra Moors will square off against the San Marino Titans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Alhambra will be strutting in after a win while San Marino will be coming in after a loss.
Alhambra took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Montebello as they made off with a 14-4 victory. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Moors' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Jayla Wagner made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Wagner was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Evelyn Estrada and Layla Sanchez did most of the damage at the plate: Estrada went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Sanchez went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Estrada has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Toni Covarrubias, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Alhambra always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, San Marino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to La Canada. The match marked the first time this season in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.
Alhambra's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for San Marino, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alhambra hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like San Marino struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
