KIPP Atlanta Collegiate is 0-3 against Holy Innocents Episcopal since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Golden Bears at 7:30 p.m.
On Thursday, KIPP Atlanta Collegiate lost to Hapeville Charter at home by a 35-18 margin. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Hornets are ranked 102nd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Malachi Heard, who picked up 66 receiving yards and one touchdown. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 66 yards. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate also got a significant boost from Christopher Wilson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 88 yards.
Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 3.3 yards per carry. While one picked up at least nine total tackles, Jared Earley stood above the rest. He picked up three sacks, forced one fumble, and made nine total tackles (4.0 for loss). KIPP Atlanta Collegiate's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.3.

KIPP Atlanta Collegiate got some further help from Ladell Moreland: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 11 total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Holy Innocents Episcopal got themselves on the board against Washington on Saturday, but Washington never followed suit. They breezed past the Bulldogs to the tune of 49-0. The Golden Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 30 points or more this season.
Holy Innocents Episcopal's win came from a few key players KIPP Atlanta Collegiate will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryan Woods, who threw for 137 yards and four TDs on only 13 passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Khalid Worthy did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 39 receiving yards.
Holy Innocents Episcopal didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Mays and Aj Donnelly. Donnelly got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

It's a different story for Holy Innocents Episcopal, though, as they've been averaging only 85.6 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
