The Magnolia Science Academy Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 61-21 loss at the hands of Calvary Chapel. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Magnolia Science Academy has scored all season.
Kirk Cuthbert was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points for Calvary Chapel. Cuthbert hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Raymond Ramirez, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Magnolia Science Academy bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Calvary Chapel, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Magnolia Science Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Vista Meridian at 4:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. As for Calvary Chapel, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilson at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wilson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three matchups.
