Given Athens Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Commerce is ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Commerce still got an impressive performance from Malay L miitchell, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals. L miitchell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Athens Christian will head out on the road to face off against Elbert County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Commerce, they will be playing at home against Rabun County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rabun County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Commerce likes a good challenge.
