The Greeneview Rams will head out on the road to challenge the McClain Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Greeneview has four straight victories, McClain has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Greeneview needed a bit of extra time to put away Madison Plains. They put the hurt on the Golden Eagles with a sharp 18-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Nick Hassid and Trent Webb were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hassid struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Webb tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Hassid went 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Webb got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Greeneview is 10-2 when Hassid posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise.
