Softball Recap: North Shore Comes Up Short

North Shore was the 10-4 winner over Goose Creek Memorial when they last played one another back in April of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The North Shore Mustangs lost 16-10 to the Goose Creek Memorial Patriots on Monday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nadia Benavides made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaslene Calvillo, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI and one double.

North Shore's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

North Shore will look to defend their home field on Friday against Channelview at 6:30 p.m. Channelview has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.25 runs per game on average), something North Shore will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Goose Creek Memorial, they have already played their next contest, a 6-0 loss against Summer Creek on the 11th.
