Angola and Garrett are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Hornets are taking a road trip to square off against the Railroaders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Angola has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 5th.

Jackson Steury and Myles Steury stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jackson went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Myles went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Myles has launched this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Garrett, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Fairfield a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Railroaders not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 14, 2024 (when they won 12-2).
Lucas Collins was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Ice, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gage Pyck, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Angola, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Angola might still be hurting after the 10-4 loss they got from Garrett in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
