The Geneva Panthers entered their tilt with the Andalusia Bulldogs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Geneva managed a 44-40 win over Andalusia on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Geneva also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Geneva can attribute much of their success to Cheyenne Hammock, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Hammock continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Simone Minnifield, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Geneva pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Andalusia, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneva won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Graceville at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Graceville is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. As for Andalusia, they will head out on the road to square off against Slocomb at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Slocomb will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Andalusia is ranked 162nd).
