The matchup between Thomas County Central and Veterans on Friday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets blew past the Veterans Warhawks 13-7. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dom McCann and Cooper Chastain did most of the damage at the plate: McCann got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Chastain scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave McCann a new career-high in runs. Reid Gainous was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

Thomas County Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory snapped Thomas County Central's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-6 record. As for Veterans, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Thomas County Central will face off against Coffee at 5:55 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Coffee has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Veterans, they will square off against Houston County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Houston County knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Veterans likes a good challenge.
