Halifax County dropped their record down to 11-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tunstall Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-7 two weeks ago.
As for Tunstall, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.1 runs.
For Tunstall's part, Colby Eastwood was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Eastwood has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kinslee Cassell, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.
