Basketball Game Preview: Ridgeline Riverhawks vs. Green Canyon Wolves

Ridgeline has gone 10-0 against Green Canyon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Ridgeline Riverhawks will host the Green Canyon Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Ridgeline will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Ridgeline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Grantsville, who was ranked third at the time (Ridgeline was ranked first). Ridgeline blew past Grantsville 67-34 on Monday. The Riverhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 27 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ridgeline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emilee Skinner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Skinner's 42nd in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Munford, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards.

Ridgeline was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 23 assists in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Green Canyon came up short against Mountain Crest on Tuesday and fell 52-44. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Ridgeline pushed their record up to 20-0 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.9 points per game. As for Green Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

Everything came up roses for Ridgeline against Green Canyon when the teams last played on January 7th, as the squad secured a 55-23 victory. Will Ridgeline repeat their success, or does Green Canyon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
