Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manual). They breezed past the Denver West Cowboys to the tune of 54-6 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Thunderbolts sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Manual got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caylei Walker out in front who threw for 147 yards and six TDs while completing 86.7% of her passes. Walker also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making one tackle and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Lelani Mack was in the mix too, providing Manual with two scores.
Manual didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Malaysia Thompson led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.
Manual's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Denver West, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Coming up, Manual will challenge Kennedy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderbolts will be up against the Commanders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
