Softball Recap: Arrowhead Christian Extends Winning Streak to Four

Arrowhead Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Hesperia Christian Patriots as they made off with a 15-4 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Allie Chavez made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Leila Mouri was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jade Dabbs, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.

Arrowhead Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hesperia Christian only posted an OBP of .364.

Arrowhead Christian's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Hesperia Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1.

Coming up, Arrowhead Christian will challenge Ontario Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Hesperia Christian, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-0 victory against Silver Valley on the 11th.
