The Curwensville Golden Tide will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Juniata Valley Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Curwensville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Moshannon Valley, falling 34-7. Curwensville was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Even if they lost, Curwensville's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Blaine Witherite and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Juniata Valley managed to keep up with Mount Union until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Juniata Valley's rough 35-14 defeat to Mount Union might stick with them for a while.
Although Juniata Valley took the loss, they still got scores from Logan Brantner and Luke Uplinger.
Curwensville has been struggling this season, as they've lost six of their first seven matchups, which gives them a 1-6 record this season. As for Juniata Valley, their defeat on Friday dropped their record down to 5-2.
