Softball Game Preview: Bristol Warriors vs. MAST Community Charter Panthers

For the second straight game, Bristol will face off against MAST Community Charter. The Warriors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Panthers at 3:45 p.m. Bristol is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Bristol and MAST Community Charter meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers a 10-0 shutout. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by nine runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Brianna Slack's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Luciana Snyder, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Gonzalez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Bristol hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

Bristol's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for MAST Community Charter, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3.

Both Bristol and MAST Community Charter just can't seem to miss. The Warriors have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.7 hits per game. However, it's not like MAST Community Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.1 hits.
