This season hasn't been kind to the Grand Canyon Phantoms, who are still winless after their 16th contest. They suffered a rough 53-29 loss at the hands of Ash Fork on Tuesday. Grand Canyon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ash Fork apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Several Phantoms players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Everett Rommel, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Rommel continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Lambon, who scored five points.
Grand Canyon's defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-16. As for Ash Fork, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Grand Canyon will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fredonia at 3:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Fredonia is ranked 350th, while Grand Canyon is ranked 356th). As for Ash Fork, they will head out on the road to face off against Williams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Nickoli Cody and Josue Tellez.
