The Waukesha West Wolverines will challenge the Pewaukee Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Waukesha West comes in on five and Pewaukee on four.
On Friday, Waukesha West made easy work of New Berlin West and carried off an 11-1 win. Considering the Wolverines have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Anna Dornbach spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Waukesha West let Paige Kahle and Payton Hisel run wild. Kahle went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Hisel went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles Hisel has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amelia Carlson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
Waukesha West hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 7-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Pewaukee won against Campbellsport on Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Pirates came out on top in a nail-biter against Brookfield Central, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since April 7th.
Hailey Hutchens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Harper Gould, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Mya Bloedow was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Waukesha West pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pewaukee, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Waukesha West hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .331. However, it's not like Pewaukee struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Waukesha West's way against Pewaukee in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Waukesha West made off with a 13-1 victory. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
