Two dominant backs in Albert Medina and Mathias Price are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Regis Jesuit Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Regis Jesuit faced Legend in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Regis Jesuit took down Legend 27-10. The win made it back-to-back wins for Regis Jesuit.
Meanwhile, Fountain-Fort Carson stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 35-6 victory over Chaparral. Given Fountain-Fort Carson's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Chaparral is ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fountain-Fort Carson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Price, who rushed for 263 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Price hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Kaleb Keits was another key contributor, rushing for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Regis Jesuit has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Regis Jesuit came up short against Fountain-Fort Carson in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 21-14. Thankfully for Regis Jesuit, Tavian Tuli (who rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
