After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shades Valley, the Pell City Panthers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They strolled past Woodlawn with points to spare, taking the game 45-31. Given Pell City's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Woodlawn is ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pell City was led to victory by Reagan Tarver and Heaven O'Neal. Tarver scored 12 points along with six assists, while O'Neal scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Zaniya Mitchell, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Pell City has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Woodlawn, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pell City will take on Shades Valley at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodlawn, they will be playing at home against Mountain Brook at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
