The Chesapeake Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Fairland 38-2. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chesapeake in their matchups with Fairland: they've now lost seven in a row.
Peyton Jackson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fairland, throwing for 309 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Jackson is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brycen Hunt, who picked up 91 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Chesapeake's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.3 points per game. As for Fairland, the victory was the seventh in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Chesapeake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fairland will be playing at home against Portsmouth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Portsmouth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Fairland is ranked 165th).
