The Moffat County Bulldogs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 65-47 win over Rifle on Saturday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Moffat County has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Moffat County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ian Champ hafey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Champ hafey is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 13 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryant Carlson, who scored 20 points.
Rifle lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Logan Gross, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Sprenger, who scored 11 points.
Moffat County's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Rifle, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
Moffat County has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Basalt at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Basalt is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.7 points per game this season. As for Rifle, they will head out on the road to face off against Delta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rifle is coming into the game with five straight defeats on the road, meaning Delta will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
