After two games on the road, Mourning is heading back home. They will take on the Jackson Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mourning's defense has only allowed 25.7 points per game this season, so Jackson's offense will have their work cut out for them.
On Wednesday, Mourning strolled past Miami Beach with points to spare, taking the game 52-33.
Meanwhile, Jackson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 44-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hialeah Gardens.
Amariss Santana put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points.
Mourning pushed their record up to 10-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Jackson, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Mourning, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 45-26 loss to Jackson in their previous matchup back in December of 2021. Thankfully for Mourning, Aaliyah Dukes (who scored 20 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
