In what's become a running theme this season, the Gilbert Indians gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Brookland-Cayce 58-17 at home. The win was just what Gilbert needed coming off of a 52-10 defeat in their prior contest.
Leading Gilbert to victory were Blythe Price and Ahleira Leaphart. Price scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Leaphart scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Price has scored all season. Chanelle Adams was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Gilbert's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Brookland-Cayce, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
Gilbert will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Devils at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Dreher comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Swansea is ranked 198th, while the Bearcats are ranked 200th).
