Basketball Game Preview: Sebring Blue Streaks vs. DeSoto County Bulldogs

Sebring is 1-9 against DeSoto County since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sebring Blue Streaks will be playing in front of their home fans against the DeSoto County Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Sebring has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Sebring is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They secured a 58-53 W over Victory Christian Academy on Friday.

Sebring found their leader in sophomore Molly Jane Zwayer, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards. Zwayer is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 17 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Adriana Maldonado, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, DeSoto County suffered their biggest loss since February 9, 2024 on Thursday. They were outmatched by Booker and fell 60-32. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.

Sebring will need focus on slowing down Cherish Wiggins, one of several DeSoto County players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 13 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Yahri Tyler, who had seven points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.

Sebring pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for DeSoto County, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.

Sebring took their win against DeSoto County in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 65-39. Will Sebring repeat their success, or does DeSoto County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
