The Groom Tigers won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt a 54-16 loss at the hands of Valley. Groom has not had much luck with Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Valley was led to victory by Trinity Schlueter and Reese Cruse. Schlueter scored 18 points along with three steals, while Cruse almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Schlueter is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Laney Edwards was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Groom's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Valley, the win (which was their 30th in a row) raised their record to 30-2.
Groom does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Valley will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Hedley at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. The timing isn't great for Hedley: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Valley has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road.
