The Freeman Scotties will take on the Lakeside Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Freeman sitting on three straight wins and Lakeside on ten.
With a playoff game on the line, Freeman rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against Montesano by a score of 28-21. Freeman pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Montesano cut but never quite recovered from.
Luke Whitaker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 148 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. Freeman also got a significant boost from Kanoa Rogan, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 109 yards.
Meanwhile, Lakeside put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Life Christian Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-14 win at home. Given Lakeside's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Life Christian Academy is ranked 174th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Freeman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Lakeside, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.
Freeman came up short against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in September, falling 26-14. Can Freeman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
