AAA District 16 recap November 19, 2013
White Station added to the longest winning streak in AAA District 16 this week by beating Whitehaven, 34-13. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
White Station was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after topping the Tigers. Joe Rocconi's team came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
6-foot-2 quarterback Cedrick Wilson Jr. of the Spartans is the league leader in passing yards this season with 729. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Terreyo Nailor. The Memphis East star has 15 catches for 167 yards.
In 138 carries DeVante Turner has put up 903 yards this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Memphis Central takes on White Station. As it stands, the Warriors are in third, while the Spartans are in fourth.
Melrose fell to Ridgeway 54-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
