Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask King's Christian). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Foundation Collegiate Academy 62-12. With the Knights ahead 40-5 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
King's Christian's win came from a few key players The Pilgrim Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Angelina Alicea, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points along with seven boards and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivian Galvis, who put up eight points and seven steals.
King's Christian pushed their record up to 1-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.0 points per game. As for The Pilgrim Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: The Pilgrim Academy has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.7 boards per game. However, it's not like King's Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 21.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
