Jimtown proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tippecanoe Valley, sneaking past 2-1.
Kiyla Eberhart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Jimtown's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kamryn Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Williams a new career-high.
Meanwhile, LaVille was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against Caston, falling 14-3.
Lexis Owens was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Jimtown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. LaVille's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jimtown has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for LaVille, though, as they've been averaging 10.6 hits. Given Jimtown's sizable advantage in that area, the Lancers will need to find a way to close that gap.
