The Triton Central Tigers on the road again on Saturday and play against the Milan Indians at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Triton Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
Last Saturday, Triton Central rang in the new year with a 43-36 win over Morristown. That's two games straight that Triton Central has won by exactly seven points.
Triton Central can attribute much of their success to Eli Sego, who scored 12 points along with six steals, and Silas Blair, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Sego has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Taggart Goul, who scored four points.
While Milan couldn't quite beat Jac-Cen-Del last Saturday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 24-point defeat they were dealt last Wednesday. Milan fell just short of Jac-Cen-Del by a score of 55-52. Milan has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Triton Central's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Milan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything came up roses for Triton Central against Milan in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 84-55 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Triton Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
