If the Denison Yellow Jackets were feeling good off their 48-27 takedown of the Ranchview Wolves on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Denison took a 67-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pebble Hills on Friday. While losing is never fun, Denison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while Pebble Hills is ranked 89th).
Pebble Hills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Sapien out in front who scored 8 points along with 17 assists and 8 steals. Sapien has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Krystal Talavera, who scored 20 points along with 5 steals.
Denison has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Pebble Hills, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Denison will head out on the road to face off against Creekview at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Creekview will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Pebble Hills' road trip will continue as they head out to face Little Elm at 10:30 a.m. on December 2nd.
