The Camp Verde Cowboys will face off against the Arizona Lutheran Academy Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Camp Verde comes in on seven and Arizona Lutheran Academy on three.
On Wednesday, Camp Verde made easy work of Fountain Hills and carried off a 24-9 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won ten games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Aislynn Mulcaire made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-6 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Kenidy Maxwell was another key player, going 3-for-6 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Camp Verde kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 27 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 19.8.
Meanwhile, Arizona Lutheran Academy posted their closest win since April 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past ALA - Anthem South 11-10.
The team relied heavily on Bella Gray, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ella Peltzer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Camp Verde pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Arizona Lutheran Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Camp Verde has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .510. However, it's not like Arizona Lutheran Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .541. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Camp Verde took their win against Arizona Lutheran Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Do the Cowboys have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
