The Wesclin Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Vandalia Vandals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After a string of six wins, Wesclin's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a serious blow against Greenville, falling 59-28. Wesclin has not had much luck with Greenville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Vandalia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by Centralia 50-15. While losing is never fun, Vandalia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while Centralia is ranked 111th).
Wesclin's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Vandalia, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-16.
Wesclin came up short against Vandalia in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 72-65. Can Wesclin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
