After a string of seven wins, the James F. Byrnes Rebels's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 55-45 to Dorman. James F. Byrnes was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
James F. Byrnes lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Olivia Brockman, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brockman has scored all season. Chassidy Rookard was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Dorman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rihanna Wallace, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Wallace continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nakiyah Kelly, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
James F. Byrnes' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7. As for Dorman, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Gaffney the next time they take the court. Dorman will host Gaffney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while James F. Byrnes will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
