McDowell put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Mason County Royals 8-2. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Madyalyn Matlock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 12 hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabriella Deluca, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Isabelle Nageli was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

McDowell's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Mason County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

McDowell will challenge Manchester at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Greyhounds have averaged an impressive 16.5 runs per game this season. As for Mason County, they will be playing at home against Bishop Brossart at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
