Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Charleston Tigers walked away with it. They blew past the Lions 50-18 on the road. Charleston might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight contests by 26 points or more this season.
Charleston found their leader in underclassman Marcus Flowers jr, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Quentin Carter was another key contributor, rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown.
When it comes to explaining why Hamilton lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Trent Jones. Despite the final result, he rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
The win was the seventh in a row for Charleston, bringing their record for this year to 11-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Charleston is on the road again on Friday and play against Union at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Union knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Charleston likes a good challenge. Hamilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
